Are Your Dreams REALISTIC?

On Friday evening, I hosted one of my events I’ve coined The Manifesting Party.  I first did this with a group of friends in NYC and we had such a blast I decided to bring it to Boulder as a public event.

The party revelers spent the evening trying on different hats and speaking to one another as if their desired future state was already here.

One woman spoke about her close friendship with Oprah and the workshop they launched together in Fiji, Others bragged about beach houses and ski chalets.  More than a few were bestselling authors or successful speakers.  All had money easily flowing to them and a steady flow of clients excited and willing to pay their full rates.  Each attracted the perfect soulmate or partner they dreamed of and even tried on motherhood.

Inspired?

Let’s play the Manifesting Party, together, right now.

  • What future state do you put yourself in?
  • What new role are you ready to fully embody?
  • What do you want to be surrounded by?
  • What feeling state are you ready to expand in your life?

Just take 5 minutes to play imagine, feel, smell, smile your way through it.  Let it be light and full of ease and fun.  Breathe it all the way in.

Every day you are manifesting through your thoughts, images, beliefs and ideas about what’s possible.  Most of us tend to downplay ever our wildest dreams to be ‘realistic’.  Or, the mind comes rushing in to question, ‘How is THAT going to happen?’  So we don’t ask too much, we shrink it down to size hoping that maybe even if half of the dream shows up, we’ll be satisfied.

At work or at school, we are taught to use S.M.A.R.T. goals which are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timelyWhere is the great vision in staying S.M.A.R.T?  How do you dream bigger dreams or see yourself waaay outside your current reality when you are limited by being Realistic (in what reality?) Measurable?  (How do you measure your happiness?) Timely? (By next quarter?)

When I think back on the BIG dreams I had there is no way I could have come up with the magical ways those dreams unfolded.  I just had to hold the BIG vision and let the Universe take care of the rest.

Some big dreams I’ve had and manifested:  Living and traveling in Africa, India and Guatemala, teaching yoga at an eco lodge in Costa Rica, buying my own home twice – in Chicago and in NYC. Meditating under the Buddha’s Bodhi tree. Trekking in the Himalayas to the 3rd largest mountain in the world. Living in Santa Fe in an adobe and visiting Georgia O’Keefe country. . . . just to name a few!

You’ve manifested your own list of BIG dreams. . . take a minute to remind yourself to DREAM BIG again.

Remember these guidelines:

Be very UNREALISTIC!

Be UNMEASURABLE BUT THRILLED BY IT!

BE OUTRAGEOUS and be willing to DREAM SOMETHING THAT feels UNATTAINABLE!

Want to magnify your outrageous, unrealistic, immeasurable, and unattainable goals?

TALK TO SOMEONE AS IF IT ALREADY EXISTS AND YOU ARE LIVING IT AND LOVING IT. Play BIG. Play the Manifesting Game! Try it on!!!

You really might surprise yourself.  I certainly have in my own life.  Cheers to the unrealistic dreams we all harbor!
